Cross Browser Check Your Site Design

cross browserHello. It is very difficult to check your web design on each web browser. More because we cannot have lower version of browsers especially IE6, on Vista or Xp updated.

It is really sad that IE6 creates a real problem in having compatibility with design of blogs or sites. It is really important to cross browser check your site design, because many readers use different browsers on their system.

But what if you can check the compatibility (How your template or site looks) in over 60 browsers in just a one click and without installing any of them. kenyit

Yea there is a site which ease this task. It makes screenshots of your web design in different browsers. It generates screenshots of your web design in about 60 browsers and stores them online for you.

Browsershots is the way to go.

When you submit your web address, it will be added to the job queue. A number of distributed computers will open your website in their browser. Then they will make screenshots and upload them to the central server on this site. sengihnampakgigi

You have other options too, like Screensize, Color depth, Javascript, Java, and Flash.

Hope your site looks same in all browsers. Check and leave a reply here so that other can also know senyum

P.S. My blog design is compatible with all browsers in that site. celebrate

You can use Microsoft Virtual PC to test IE6, IE7, and IE8. You just have to download an ISO image for separate installations.

Before I started using Virtual PC, I used MultipleIE. The problem with it is that the crappy but sometimes useful IE Developer Toolbar will not work in any IE but your default install. Also I ran into some AJAX errors (using jQuery) with it – caused by MultipleIE.

Browsershots is great, but the amount of browsers is overkill for most people. They also 'queue' your requests, and can take as long as 15 minutes for results.

I use IE NetRenderer which, while only offering IE 6,7 and 8, gives much faster results and I have found to be much more conducive to rapid development on a mac.

Developing your website in IE 6 is very important. Even though its kind of a pain in the butt. However, you are pretty safe that if your site works properly in IE6 then it will work on 95% of the other web browsers out their.
